Privacy Policy

Azad ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Azad Finance mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email associated with that account.
Financial data you enter
The App stores the financial information you voluntarily enter: bank accounts, monthly expenses, investment holdings (stocks, mutual funds, crypto, savings), and portfolio values. This data is stored on your device and, if you enable Cloud Backup, synced to your private Firestore document accessible only by you.
Usage analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymised analytics events (e.g. screens visited, features used) to help us improve the App. These events do not include your financial data. Analytics are disabled in development builds.
Error logs
The App writes error logs to local device storage to help diagnose crashes. These logs are never automatically uploaded; you can view and share them manually from Settings, or clear them at any time.
Device information
Standard technical information such as device type and operating system version may be collected by our third-party service providers as described below.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To sync your financial data across your devices (when Cloud Backup is enabled)
- To display your Freedom Score, portfolio values, and expense coverage
- To manage your free trial and subscription status
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To send important service communications (e.g. account security alerts)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google LLC)
We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in and Cloud Firestore for data storage. Your data is stored on Google's servers and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Data may be stored in data centres outside Pakistan.
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, those providers share your name and email with us. Their use of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
PostHog
We use PostHog for product analytics. Events are anonymised and do not contain financial data. See PostHog's Privacy Policy for details.
Sarmaaya.pk
Stock price and dividend data is fetched from the Sarmaaya API. Your account information is not shared with Sarmaaya; only the stock symbols you hold are used to query prices.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your financial data is stored locally on your device at all times. If you enable Cloud Backup, it is also stored in a private Firebase Firestore document that only you can access. We use Firebase security rules to ensure no other user can read or modify your data.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and enable biometric lock where available.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from within the App (Settings → Edit Profile → Delete Account), your data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. You can also disable Cloud Backup at any time, which stops any new data from being sent to Firestore.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (via Settings → Edit Profile)
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings → Edit Profile → Delete Account)
- Opt out of cloud sync by disabling Cloud Backup in Settings

7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
